Mousika Niata Kyprou - Jeunesses Musicales Cyprus, enable young people to develop through music organizing concerts, festivals, school performances, youth music groups, camps and exchanges. The organization is Cyprus National member of Jeunesses Musicales International (www.jmi.net). It is also a member of Euromediterranean Youth Platform, Anna Lindh Foundation Cyprus National Network, Cyprus Youth Council and Euro-Mediterranean Young Artist Network (EMYAN). It was founded on the initiative of a group of young musicians, music teachers and students of music. Since its foundation in 2004, it has done Ethno Cyprus youth music camps in 2005, 2006 and 2008, it was hosting the Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra in 2006, Jena Youth Orchestra in 2007, co-organizing Ethnic Festival in Limassol (both 2006, 2007), co-organizing “Tango Days” festival, running the first jazz and latin orchestra in the island – the “Cyprus Big Band” (www.cyprusbigband.eu), founding the first professional regional chamber orchestra - the Limassol Camerata (www.limassolcamerata.org) and participated in many other local and international projects.
