Marcin Chenczke was born on 5 August 1981 in Kalisz, Poland. He commenced his musical education in Kalisz (violin), moving subsequently to Poznań, where he started to play double bass in the Secondary Music School. He graduated from the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań.At the same time he studied double bass in the Jazz Department of Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. He completed several master courses in double bass, led by Rustem Gabdullin (professor of Moscow Conservatory). He also performed with Astor Arte Ensemble quintet featuring MarceloNisinman, leading Argentinian bandoneonist, composer and arranger and took part in the concerts of Poznań Philharmony featuring the world famous violinist Joshua Bell. He performs with improvising bands, including the young generation of Cuban musicians like the trumpeter Dennis Hernandez and the drummer Justino Miranda.
