Jacek Mielcarek a blind musician is a graduate of Jazz Institute of Academy of Music in Katowice. After studies he performed with the leaders of Polish music in Canada and USA. After coming back to Poland he propagated jazz in the Radio Opole and playing in clubs. As a soloist - vocalist and saxophonist he appeared with the Opole Big Band (active at the Opole Philharmony) on many European concert halls, between the others at Jazz Festival in Montreux, getting very good reviews - from critics and from the audience. Except of his own music projects, Jacek often plays with another groups, and not only jazz. He is a member of the most known and respected in Poland formation "Kapela Brodow", which executes the traditional music of Poland and of the national minorities living earlier in Poland (Ukrainians, Jews ). generally - folk music.
