Michal Zak, musician (wooden flutes, shawms, clarinet) "After several years of traveling around the world, playing concerts all over the Europe, Asia, North Africa and the United States, talking to people as well as learning their tunes I have finally got to Polish village where I discovered my new-old language. At the moment I work for preserving cultural heritage of the Polish village by learning and recording tunes of fiddlers, pipers and singers. Meanwhile I compose, perform and record music for silent films, theatre plays, I carry on flute workshops, play concerts and dance events. I'm a prizewinner of several Polish contests for best ethno album (Lautari "Azaran" ; Janusz Prusinowski Trio "Mazurki"), best group or creation (Niedzwiecki/Zak/Kierzkowski/Pulcyn ; Duo Zak/Szyszkowski). I contibute to Polish National Radio as well as Polish National Theatre. Music is my first language. I'm looking for perfect dialogue by playing traditional, improvised, minimal, jazz and classical music. It can be either rough dance music with aged men in a village or Chopin's works in duet with my wife's piano...."

A great exponent of bansuri music, Guillaume spent many years in intensive training under the living legend Hariprasad Chaurasia at the Vrindaban Gurukul in Mumbai (India) and recently under Pt Rajendra Prasanna from New-Delhi. With great dedication towards the bamboo flute and indian classical music, he was able to absorb the essence and authenticity of the tradition. Apart from his knowledge of the traditional repertoire and technical skills, Guillaume's lyrical and intense style leaves no-one untouched. His warm, rich tone and soulfull expression mesmerize. He has performed with various musicians in India such as Arnab Chakrabarty (sarod), Babulal Gandharva (inventor of the unique string instrument called "belabahar"), Rakesh Chaurasia (flute), Sri Nandakumar (mridangam), Ustad Rafat Khan & Zuber Shaikh (sitar), Anirban Roy Chowdhury & Naveen Gandharva (tabla)... and has accompagnied Hariprasad Chaurasia several times during "Krishna Janmashtami". In the west/Europe, he performed with Ustad Misirli Ahmet (darbuka) & Erkan Ogür (guitar/saaz) on "The Search" Tour in Turkey (2005), Levent Yildirim (darbuka), Saïd Chraibi (oud), Manu Eveno (from french pop band TRYO) at Quebec Summer Festival (2006), film-director Tony Gatlif on "Vertiges" Tour throughout Europe (2007), and many others... Now based in Paris, Guillaume performs on a local and international scale and often returns to India... He is a performer of north-indian traditional music recital as well as a full-time member of various world music ensembles such as FOULA (pop-world), ARBOLS with an album "La Danse du Papillon"(2006), MELODITERRANEE and MARC LIEBESKIND TRIO (ethno-jazz)... In solo-recital, he renders the three main styles of hindustani music known as dhrupad, khayal & thumri. He is a teacher of Indian Flute in France with an organization named Yaman. “Guillaume ushers in a potent challenge to the prevalent negative notions about the competence of non-native performers of Indian classical music. He belongs to an elite minority of foreign musicians who have absorbed the essence of this music and are able to reflect this in performance.” – Arnab Chakrabarty (sarod)

Accordionist Tuur Florizoone (°1978) hasvery quickly grown into the most adored musician in Flanders. With anirresistibly stylish stage presence, the Belgian accordionist Tuur Florizoone(°1978) set out to prove that his unusual instrument is capable of a lot morethan your regular street corner shenanigans. Jazz is only one of the many typesof music this musical world citizen has in his kit bag. The fact that he iscomfortable in pop as well as in world music is obvious from the endless listof names with whom he has shared the stage or the recording studio: PhilipCatherine, Carlos Nunez, Alfredo Marcucci, Zahava Seewald, Chris Joris, RoccoGranata, Jo Lemaire, … In 2008, during the prestigious World Soundtrack Awards(Ghent), the public were completely enamoured with his passionate score for theFlemish movie Aanrijding in Moscou (directed by Christophe Van Rompaey). Thesoundtrack's international success leads us to believe that Tuur is well on hisway to becoming our own Yann Tiersen. Melancholic and simple melodies that leadinto an all-embracing palette of emotions and colours are Tuur's forte. Makingas much music as possible with as few resources as possible. No wonder heprefers the intimacy of a trio. To name a few of Florizoone’s bands: hebewitched the public with Tricycle (alongside Vincent Noiret and PhilippeLaloy. (Check www.tricycle.be ), he is setto seduce once more with his somewhat curious, but energetic trio,‘Massot/Florizoone/Horbaczewski’. Or, how the opulence of a symphony orchestracan hide within the reduced combination of an accordion, a cello and a tuba.
www.myspace.com/massotflorizoonehorbaczewski .
He plays solo concerts all over Europe andbeyond and he plays in different other bands like ‘José’, with Nic Thys,Laurent Blondiau, Tutu Puoane, Chris Joris. Or aNoo, with the Finish singer AnuJunnonen.
