The group “the Dervishes of Cairo” was born in the year 2001, with the purpose of safeguarding and to diffusing the Egyptian traditional and popular music and, especially, the sufie dances. Their force and their prodigious concentration capacity in the dance, as well as the music's brilliant interpretation and the trance rhythms that at great speed produce vertigo and happiness in the public have converted them, in little time, in one of the groups of more projection inside and out of their country.
The “Derviches of Cairo” present to us a dynamic show, colouring of an impressive master with marked difference to the sufie Turkish dances.  The team participates in various festivals and events, national and international, the intercultural festivals of the community of Madrid 2005 the first edition of folkloric festival of EL Cairo 2006 and won golden pyramid prize. They participated in the final ceremony of the Olympic games in Asia in Qatar 2006, and ultimately of Hurgada in the Red Sea, in January 2007.
Today they act daily in the stages of Egypt presenting their art to the Egyptians and tourists who visit there from the four corners of the world.
