Amine Mraihi born in 1986 in Tunisia , started the ud at the age of 4 to become one of nowadays most influential oud players especially known for his technical mastery of the instrument and constantly pushing the ud beyond the classical limits.
Up growing under the atmosphere of the Tunisian and oriental music, Amine opened his ears and heart to sounds coming from all over the world. This led him to develop an original music based on the oriental music features: maqam and improvisation but introducing a dynamic expression and an outstanding mastery and use of the Oud. his music is a perpetual quest of new sounds; rhythmic and mingling of diverse musical cultural influences
Amine had the chance to meet and spend time practicing with great oud masters such us Ahmed Kalai (Tunisia) Necati Celik ( turkey) and Said Chraibi (morocco)… this diversity helped him building an overview of the different ud styles and schools polishing his technique and interpretation.
Aged 13 Amine obtained the first national prize on the ud.
Since then he has been evolving with his brother Hamza on the kanun , performing all over the world on many prestigious scenes and festivals such as: BBC international world festival; Kennedy center in Washington; Festival of Arab music of Montreal; Arab world institute of Paris Cairo Opera House, Beirut Medina theatre, Tunis Medina festival…
